Alder Creek is a medium priority management unit. The primary interest area in this COA is Walnut Spring which supports a Gila topminnow population. Meanwhile, Alder Creek itself hosts populations of longfin dace and lowland leopard frogs. Perennial water is limited so the stream likely has limited potential beyond the species noted. Walnut Spring was stocked with Gila topminnow in 1982 which were detected during a 2013 survey. Management will continue to involve periodic surveys and inventory of both Walnut Spring and Alder Creek downstream of Chinatown Spring.
