Pinetop Ponds COA

The Pinetop Ponds consist of one fully fenced and climb-proof fence to house imperiled native species such as narrow-headed gartersnake and northern leopard frog. It may also offer benefits to conserve other refuge native populations and contribute to captive breeding objectives. Two other hatchery-style holding ponds are maintained as temporary holding facilities for fishes if needed, such as a fire salvage or chemical renovation salvage. All of the ponds are filled via a Department-owned well and have inflow controlled and the outflow is through a screened overflow box that eventually flows into Billy Creek. They are all contained behind an 8 foot ungulate fence. Grass carp may be utilized to control aquatic vegetation in all of the ponds.
