Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Lake Mead COA

Lake Mead will be managed for a featured species of striped bass and provide a general opportunity sportfishery for both largemouth bass and channel catfish. Currently there are two native fish species in Lake Mead. The razorback sucker has a self-sustaining population throughout the lake. Flannelmouth suckers while present, usually near the inflows, are not common. They are usually not found throughout the lake as they do not thrive in reservoir conditions. Lake Mead will be secondarily-managed for a self-sustaining population of razorback sucker.
