Information on Horse Tank is limited and additional surveys need to be completed to guide management decisions. Horse tanks’s location in the Wilcox playa watershed has been designated it as management objectives for native aquatic species, primarily Yaqui species of the Río Yaqui drainage, including Yaqui chub and Yaqui topminnow, Yaqui catfish and beautiful shiner, Mexican stoneroller, and other native fishes endemic to the drainage.
