Fossil Creek COA

Fossil Creek is a major tributary to the Verde River, flowing continuously for approximately 14 miles from Fossil Springs to the Verde River. A constructed barrier is located about four and a half miles upstream of the Verde River confluence. Fossil Creek is a high priority management unit due to its assemblage of native fish. Primary management actions are monitoring fish populations and remediating illegal introductions or barrier failure. A seasonal catch-and-release fishery exists for the roundtail chub population in Fossil Creek.
