Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Foote Creek (Upper Blue River) COA

Foote Creek is managed for self-sustaining populations of native fish including speckled dace, longfin dace, desert sucker, and Sonora sucker. These species will be stocked as necessary to maintain populations. The stream should be surveyed to determine if a barrier exists. If a barrier does exist, evaluate the feasibility of eradicating brown trout upstream of the barrier and then stocking Gila trout. If a barrier does not exist, evaluate if enough habitat is available for Gila trout, and if so, evaluate potential locations to construct a fish barrier. If a barrier is built, eradicate brown trout upstream and then stock with Gila trout.
