Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Conklin Creek (Middle Black River) COA

Conklin Creek will be managed for self-sustaining native fish populations including a recovery population of Apache trout. Conklin Creek contains a viable fish barrier and is believed to be currently fishless upstream of this barrier. It will be re-stocked with a wild, self-sustaining population of Apache trout and habitat will be evaluated for re-introducing loach minnow. Exclosure fencing is present on a headwater meadow of Conklin Creek and protects important habitat from grazing impacts.
