Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Cave Creek (Cave Creek - Arizona Canal Diversion Channel) COA

The Cave Creek COA is managed primarily for self-sustaining populations of native fish. The stream will be evaluated to determine where non-native fish removals would be most effective. Non-native fish will be controlled or eradicated from those reaches and native fish that historically occupied the stream (e.g. speckled dace, roundtail chub) will be reintroduced to establish populations. Cave Creek should also be evaluated to determine if suitable habitat for Gila topminnow that is free of non-native fishes exists, with topminnow stocked into those locations.
