Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Camp Creek COA

Camp Creek is a medium priority management unit due to existing populations of longfin and speckled dace and potential habitat for Gila topminnow and roundtail chub. This COA is scheduled for future Gila topminnow stocking by AZGFD. Management needs include additional surveys and non-native suppression (possibly green sunfish and crayfish), habitat improvement, and stocking as needed to enhance native aquatic species populations. Camp Creek may be suitable habitat for lowland leopard frogs, which are found in nearby Seven Springs Wash. The headwaters of Seven Springs Wash are adjacent to the Camp Creek, but drain into the Salt River watershed.
