Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Burro Creek (Upper Black River) COA

The Burro Creek COA will be managed for self-sustaining populations of native fishes. Burro Creek has had minimal flows which contribute to warmer water temperatures and more robust populations of non-native crayfish. It will be managed primarily for speckled dace and bluehead sucker, as well as native Apache trout populations, in conjunction with West Fork Black River management, should flows be restored and able to support coldwater fish species.
