Black River (Upper Black River) COA

The Black River will be managed primarily for the benefit of self-sustaining natives fishes, including roundtail chub, desert sucker, Sonora sucker, and speckled dace. The secondary management objective for a blue ribbon coldwater sportfishery supported by a wild self-sustaining population of brown trout. There are rainbow trout hybrids found throughout the Black River to support an additional wild sportfishery. The Black River also contains a population of threatened narrow-headed gartersnakes.
