Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Beaver Creek (Upper Black River) COA

Beaver Creek is managed primarily for self-sustaining populations of native fish including speckled dace, desert sucker, and Sonora sucker. It will secondarily be managed a self-sustaining coldwater sportfshery supported by a population of wild brown trout present in the Black River systems. Flows are reduced heavily in the summer time and severely reduce fish habitat. The other tributaries to Beaver Creek will be managed similarly, though all contain very minimal or no flow during much of the year and are not believed to support fish populations.
