Arizona Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Bear Wallow Creek (Middle Black River) COA

Bear Wallow Creek will be managed primarily as an Apache trout recovery stream with a wild self-sustaining population once the planned chemical renovation is complete. It will secondarily be managed for additional self-sustaining populations of native fish including loach minnow, speckled dace, and desert sucker. Bear Wallow Creek will be managed as a wild coldwater sportfishery for Apache trout as populations are re-established and can sustain some angling pressure.
